Admiral Arthur Fernando Bettega Corrêa – Chief of the Navy Staff

Admiral Arthur Fernando Bettega Corrêa holds a Bachelor's degree in Naval Sciences from the Naval Academy. He completed advanced training in Weaponry for Officers at the Admiral Wandenkolk Instruction Center, as well as the Senior Staff Course and the Maritime Policy and Strategy Course at the Naval War College. He holds a Master’s degree in Acoustic Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School (USA) and a specialization in International Management from COPPEAD-UFRJ.

Throughout his career, he has held highly relevant positions, notably as Commander of the Southern Naval Patrol Group; he served in the Office of the Navy Commander; Chief Military Advisor to the Institutional Security Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic; Director of the Navy Intelligence Center; Director of Communications and Information Technology of the Navy; Vice Chief of the Navy General Staff; Commander of the 1st Naval District; Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet; and Director-General of Navy Materiel. Within the Ministry of Defense, he served as Chief of Logistics and Mobilization and Chief of Strategic Affairs of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces. Currently, he serves as the Chief of the Navy General Staff.
