United Nations Infantry Battalion Course 

The United Nations Office of Military Affairs seeks highly qualified military officers from UN Member States for service in our peace missions around the world, either as individual Staff Officers, as Military Observers, or as part of a formed unit from an individual Troop Contributing Country. Staff Officers are also valued at UN Headquarters from where they support all aspects related to the deployment of troops on the ground.
- Course objective: The UNIBAT Course is intended to prepare the military decision-makers, and staff officers (including Force Headquarters), who during their UN deployment may be assigned to, employ, coordinated, or perform missions with UNIBAT; and
- Course duration: 3 (three) weeks in total (15 working days).
• 1 (one) week (5 working days) for CPTM to be conducted remotely (online classes)
• 2 (two) weeks (10 working days) for STM for UN Infantry Battalions to be conducted at the NPOTC facilities, consisting of lectures, syndicate discussions, map exercises and a table top exercise (TTX) based on fictional scenario.
- Target audience: Military Officers (NATO rank from OF-2 to OF-5) in active service. They must have the junior staff course as prerequisite; and
- Language used in the course: English (minimum STANAG 6001 Functional Language 3-2-3-2). All participants must be able to understand classes in English and to engage in discussions in order to fully benefit from the training.
