The United Nations Engagement Platoon (UN-EP) is a tactical level military capability that supports human terrain mapping for the UNIBAT commander. The purpose of the UN-EP is to establish, support and promote sustained dialogue with mission stakeholders. Gender balanced, the UN-EP can access a larger and more representative cross section of the community which will provide the UNIBAT commander with a critical level of fidelity about the activities, concerns, and risks within their area of responsibility.
 
- Course objective: Prepare military personnel selected by Member States to be deployed in a UN Peacekeeping Mission as member of the Engagement Platoon.
 
- Course duration: 3 (three) weeks in total (15 working days)
• 1 (one) week (5 working days) for CPTM to be conducted remotely (online classes)
2 (two) weeks (10 working days) for RTP for UN Engagement Platoon to be conducted at the NPOTC facilities, consisting of lectures, syndicate discussions, map exercises and a table top exercise (TTX) based on fictional scenario.
 
- Target audience: Military personnel of armed forces from rank of Sargent (OR-5) to the rank of Colonel (OF-5) in active service.
 
- Language used in the course: English (minimum STANAG 6001 Functional Language 3-2-3-2). All participants must be able to understand classes in English and to engage in discussions in order to fully benefit from the training.
