Inauguration of the technical office of the Tamandaré Class Frigate Program (PFCT) in Itajaí
Close to completing one year of implementation of its office in Itajaí - SC, EMGEPRON inaugurated, on July 27, 2021, another space in the city, now fully dedicated to the technical part of the “Tamandaré Class” Frigates Program (PFCT). The new office will be used to allocate the Program's technical staff, in addition to holding management meetings, presentations, debates and as a file for documents and materials used in the activities.
Located in Murta, the new office is located inside the Brasil Sul Shipyard, acquired by thyssenkrupp Marine Systems in 2020, and used as a base for the construction of the “Tamandaré” Class frigates of the Brazilian Navy.
The new space will facilitate the monitoring and inspection of the execution of the PFCT, being close to the SPE Águas Azuis, responsible for the construction of the frigates, also providing support to the Brazilian Navy, as well as proximity to the city's City Hall, and its company Itajaí Participations.
The inauguration event was attended by the Commander of the Navy (CM), Admiral de Fleet Garnier; the Secretary General of the Navy, Admiral de Fleet Campos; the General Director of Material of the Navy (DGMM), Admiral de Fleet Cunha; the Mayor of Itajaí, Dr. Volnei Morastoni; the Chief Executive Officer of EMGEPRON, Vice Admiral (RM1-IM) Edesio; the General Coordinator of Strategic Programs at EMGEPRON, Vice Admiral (RM1) Pontes Lima, CEO of thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul, Paul Kempers; CEO of Águas Azuis, Fernando Queiroz; President of Atech, Edson Mallaco; Director of Programs at Embraer Defense & Security, Walter Pinto Junior, and Director-President of Itajaí Participações, Rodrigo Duarte.
