EMGEPRON's Technical Visit to Jurong Aracruz Ltda Shipyard

On December 8, 2021, a technical visit was carried out by an EMGEPRON delegation composed of members of the Antarctic Support Ship Project (NApAnt) team to the facilities of Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz Ltda (EJA), in Aracruz - ES, where the vessel will be built.



The Shipyard's team presented the current stage of the project's planning and various aspects involving the construction strategy and contract were discussed. Later, the industrial and administrative facilities of EJA were visited, where it was possible to see in person aspects that will involve the entire project. EJA, which is operating normally and currently has 2,800 employees, occupies a total area of ​​82.5 hectares, with a 1.6 km pier, a 100,000 m2 structure workshop, a restaurant for 3,000 people, an outpatient clinic and several other top-notch features.



EMGEPRON's delegation consisted of the Project Manager NApAnt, CMG (Refº) Archimedes Francisco Delgado, the Engineering and Construction Inspection Manager and the Heads of the Project's Structures and Operating Systems Division.

The Naval Project Management Company (EMGEPRON) will present an autonomous vessel project during Operation MINEX-2023, which will take place from October 23rd to 27th.

The ceremony, traditionally called “Keel Laying”, which marks the ship construction process, will begin the materialization of the project for the future Polar Ship “Almirante Saldanha”.
