Commander of the 5th Naval District visits PFCT facilities in Itajaí

On October 4, the Commander of the 5th Naval District, Vice Admiral Augusto José da Silva Fonseca Junior, visited the facilities of the Thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul (tkEBS), in Itajaí/SC, where the Tamandaré Class Frigate Program is being developed ( PFCT).

The program began with an explanation about the current stage of construction of the Tamandaré Class Frigates given by the Manager of the PFCT, CMG (RM1-EN) Roberto Marcelo Moura dos Santos and by the CEO of the Specific Purpose Society Águas Azuis (SPE/AA), Mr. Fernando Queiroz.

On this occasion, VA Fonseca Junior visited the shipyard's facilities and production area, checking “on site” the structural assembly process of the Frigate “Tamandaré” - F200, the first ship of the class, whose launch is scheduled to take place in June 2024 and definitive delivery to the Brazilian Navy, in December 2025.

The Naval Project Management Company (EMGEPRON) will present an autonomous vessel project during Operation MINEX-2023, which will take place from October 23rd to 27th.

The ceremony, traditionally called “Keel Laying”, which marks the ship construction process, will begin the materialization of the project for the future Polar Ship “Almirante Saldanha”.

Com o intuito de promover a atividade de controle interno no âmbito do Ministério da Defesa (MD), no dia 04 de outubro foi realizada, em Brasília-DF, a quinta edição do Simpósio Conjunto de Controle Interno do MD.
